Introduction to Robotics Technology & Career Awareness Training

M.E.T. Inc.’s Introduction to Robotics Technology & Career Awareness Training is a

course, which allows customization for teacher professional development, community

organization awareness, or secondary youth training in robotics building and

programming fundamentals for participation in LEGO robotics competition.

Teachers/Professionals: Robotics is a discipline at the intersection of mechanics,

electronics, and computer science. For teachers, it is a popular and efficient tool to

motivate and encourage students in the areas of science, technology, engineering, math,

and computer science. This course series introduces teachers and other professionals to

the fundamentals of robotic building and computer programming along with lab work

where team building and project management skills are developed.

Students: This training series is designed for students to have rigorous hands-on

practice in order to understand the digital world and to bridge the digital divide.

Instructor Led Training and student interaction will allow the student to make

connections across multiple scientific and technical disciplines as well as introduce and

expose educators to the use of robotics education as an experiential learning, self esteem

and confidence building tool.

This course will, expose and introduce participants to robotics, mechanics, sensors,

basic & advanced programming, design engineering, scientific process, project

management, problem solving, teaming, and the development of career/workplace

competencies using national science standards.
